What this site is

Clear Carafe publishes independent, informational editorial about home water filtration. Its content is research and opinion assembled from third-party certification listings, manufacturer performance data sheets and public regulatory sources, with the method described on the methodology page.

What this site is not

• Not medical advice. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or prevents any condition, and no statement about a contaminant should be read as a health assessment of your situation. Health questions about your water go to a physician or your public health department.
• Not plumbing or engineering advice. Installation descriptions are general and illustrative. Plumbing work is governed by local codes, may require permits, and can cause serious water damage when done wrong. Use a licensed plumber.
• Not a water quality assessment. We cannot tell you what is in your water. Only a laboratory test of your own tap can do that.
• Not legal advice on regulatory compliance, landlord obligations or anything else.

Accuracy, and its limits

We take accuracy seriously — every non-obvious claim is sourced, and certification claims carry the date they were last verified. Even so, this is a category where the underlying facts move: certifications lapse, data sheets get revised, products get discontinued and regulations change. Content may become out of date between the day it was verified and the day you read it.

The site and everything on it are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Always confirm a certification claim against the certifier's own current listing, and a specification against the manufacturer's current documentation, before spending money. If you find something wrong, the corrections page exists for exactly that.

Where a price appears on this site it is a live figure captured on the date shown alongside it, and it may already have changed. Where no verified price is available the buy button shows no number. The retailer's own page is the only authority on current price, availability, specification and warranty.
