Last updated September 1, 2026

Effective 1 September 2026. This policy explains what Clear Carafe ("we") collects when you visit clearcarafe.com, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so where something is uncertain it says so.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell data, and we do not run advertising networks. We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read, and the buy links on this site pass a tracking identifier to the retailer so we get credited for a sale. That is essentially the whole picture.

What we collect directly

  • Nothing, unless you send it. There is no account, no login, no newsletter signup and no profile.
  • Contact form submissions. If you use the form on the contact page, the name, email address, subject and message you type are emailed to us so we can reply. They are not added to a marketing list, not sold, and not shared. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful for answering you or maintaining the correction log.
  • Anti-spam signals. The contact form records how long the page was open before submission and includes a hidden field that real visitors never fill in. Your IP address is held in memory briefly to rate-limit submissions. None of this is stored persistently or used to identify you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which buy links get clicked. It records things like the pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device type, browser, and how you arrived. Google Analytics 4 does not log full IP addresses, and we have no interest in identifying individual readers — the only question we are asking the data is which pages are useful.

Analytics is provided by Google LLC and is subject to Google's privacy policy. You can opt out entirely with Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by using any browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Affiliate links

Buy buttons here route through a short redirect on this domain which appends our affiliate tracking identifier and sends you to the retailer. The retailer — Amazon, in almost every case — then sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy in order to credit a purchase to us. We never see your order, your payment details or your address; we see aggregated commission totals only.

Amazon's handling of that data is governed by the Amazon.com privacy notice. Full detail on the commercial relationship is on the affiliate disclosure page.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets its own cookies for measurement, and the retailer you click through to sets its own once you arrive there. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser has no effect on your ability to read anything here.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which maintains standard server logs including IP addresses and request data for security and operational purposes, under Vercel's privacy policy. We do not query those logs for reader analysis.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
  • Run advertising networks or behavioral retargeting on this site.
  • Build profiles of individual readers.
  • Email you unless you emailed us first.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the UK, and the CCPA and CPRA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal information we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Because the only personal information we hold is correspondence you chose to send us, honoring these requests is usually a matter of deleting an email thread.

To exercise any of these rights, or to ask what we hold, email info@clearcarafe.com. We do not discriminate against anyone for making a request, and there is nothing to charge for.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top changes with it and the change is noted on the corrections page. There is no mailing list to notify, so the dated version on this page is always the current one.
